Red Carpet Review of Emmys 2025 with best and worst dressed

Nicholas Alexander Chavez @nicholasalexanderchavez

This one is frustrating because it’s so close to getting everything right. The dinner suit style is (almost) great, though I can’t stand a rounded front on a double-breasted jacket, and the fit is excellent, which is rare. I love the wide, flared cut of the trousers paired with the pointed boots. Why he chose not to wear a bow tie is beyond me; a large dropped would have been perfect. We’re also missing a bit of shirt sleeve length and a white pocket square. 3/10 for the lack of bow tie

Seth Rogen @sethrogen

An interesting, modern take on black tie. The shade of brown on the velvet jacket is exquisite, as is the colour of the lapels, and the bow tie shape works nicely, even if it’s pre-tied. What doesn’t work for me are the trousers; he should have gone with black trousers, along with black shoes and a black bow tie to tie it all together. Can do better! 6/10

*rubs his eyes* I’m getting a headache looking at this picture. The whole look is so busy, the pattern is absolutely insane! It would have been interesting to have the same cut of trousers but in black, that probably would have worked a lot better. One thing I really like is the bow tie shape contrasting the rest of the outfit. 3/10

This look immediately brings to mind Dumb and Dumber: the light blue suit, the frilly shirt… he’s just missing the hat. The suit itself is more of a daytime summer piece awkwardly repurposed as a dinner suit, and that pre-tied bow tie doesn’t help. Sorry, Adam. 0/10

The first smile of the reviews—at least someone looks happy to be here, so that’s a good start. I’m not entirely sure whether the suit is a very faded black or an unusual brown-grey, but either way, it’s a great shade. Style-wise, I’m still not a fan of the rounded quarters on a double-breasted jacket, and the lapels are very narrow. The wing collar also doesn’t make sense; a wing collar should only ever be paired with a very traditional dinner suit, even that is debatable. And to finish, I will never approve a pre-tied bow tie! 5/10 for effort

Paul W. Downs @paulwdowns

I’m very confused by this poor attempt at white tie. Where is the waistcoat? Why the open-neck shirt? Why the neckerchief? And why is he holding the trouser braid in his hand? So many questions, and not a single answer. Help! 5/10
